This Privacy Policy explains how Parth Bhawar ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of LiPi, handles information collected through this website (thelipi.in) and the LiPi desktop typing application ("the App").
1. Information We Collect
On this website: We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (page views, clicks, scroll behaviour, and session recordings). Clarity may use cookies and collect your IP address and device/browser information. This data is used only to improve the website and is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
In the App: When you activate a license, the App generates a machine fingerprint — a one-way hash of your computer's hostname and network adapter identifiers. We never see or store the raw values, only the resulting hash, and it is used solely to enforce one active license per machine. The App does not transmit anything you type, any lesson content, or any usage statistics to us.
Payments and contact details: Payments are made directly through your own UPI app to our UPI ID — we never see your card, bank account, or UPI app credentials. To issue a license key, we ask you to share a payment screenshot and your institute/student name over WhatsApp or email. This is provided voluntarily by you and used only for license issuance and support.
2. How We Use Information
- To activate and enforce software licenses on a per-machine basis
- To deliver license keys and provide customer support
- To understand and improve how visitors use this website
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information. We share data only with Microsoft (via Clarity, for website analytics) and where required by law. We do not have any other third-party data processors.
4. Data Retention
License and contact records are kept for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period after, for support and record-keeping purposes. Website analytics data is retained per Microsoft Clarity's standard retention policy.
5. Your Rights
You may request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of the contact information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below. Deleting your contact record may affect our ability to provide license support.
6. Children's Privacy
LiPi is typing software intended for use by students under guidance of an institute or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children; license and payment details are provided by an adult (student, parent, or institute) at the time of purchase.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
